Donald W. Schling

Donald W. Schling, 67, of Martin, OH died Friday, November 8, 2013 at Bay Park Hospital, Oregon, OH. Donald was born on September 27, 1946 in Sandusky County, OH to Walter and Marjorie Atwater Schling. On January 17, 1975 in Elmore, OH he married Diana L. Matyas and she survives. Donald worked in the trucking business for over 40 years as a fleet operator and coordinator. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elmore. Donald enjoyed raising, riding and training horses, and many sports, especially football. He also served as a 4-H advisor for 26 years. In addition to his loving wife of 38 years, Diana, he is survived by his sons: Todd Schling of Perrysburg and Brian Schling of Piqua, daughters: Kelly Rex Moore of Woodburn, IN, Kristi Matthew Brinker of Perrysburg, and Kody Karl Kuhlman of Martin, 16 grandchildren, brothers: Randy Sherry Schling of Elmore and Rodney Schling of Luckey, and sister: Vicki Dick Balhoff of Perrysburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Dennis Schling. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Elmore, OH. Memorials for Donald may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg or the 4-H Club of Ottawa County.
