Donald C. Pfleghaar, age 91, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born on September 1, 1923 in Maumee to Alfred and Hazel (Zeller) Pfleghaar. Don was a graduate of Maumee High School and attended Bowling Green State University. He was a WW II veteran serving in the Marine Corps. and was involved in the battle of Okinawa, including the occupation of Japan. Don worked for Toledo Edison as a lineman and dispatcher, retiring in 1981. He was a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee, the Riverby Golf Club and the Edison Club. Don also enjoyed reading, college football, traveling and playing cards. Don is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jacqueline, children, Christopher (Lynn) Pfleghaar, Stephanie (Roger) Forney, Timothy (Christine) Pfleghaar, Nancy Snyder and Matthew (Corina) Pfleghaar; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and brother, John Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Teresa Zehnder and sister, Caroline Vetter. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Maumee with prayers to begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Ebeid Hospice.
