Donald L. Overmyer

Donald L. Overmyer, 80, of Oak Harbor, passed away on Fathers Day, June 18, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 18, 1936, in Salem Township, Ottawa County, Ohio, to Emerson A. and Mildred E. (Bebow) Overmyer. On May 28, 1957, in Oak Harbor, he married Judith M. Tusing and she preceded him in death on August 19, 2010. Don worked as a lifetime farmer and logger/timber man and also for the Ohio Blenders and the Fremont Sugar Co. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Don raised prize winning dairy cattle and enjoyed horse pulls, hauling hay to the Amish country, and going to his grandkids ballgames. Don is survived by his son, Michael L. Overmyer, daughter, Lisa L. (Brian) Butzin, grandsons, Brayden Butzin and Brennan Butzin, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters, June Fought, Eileen Powell, and Anne Hubbs. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., on Thursday, June 22, 2017, and from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017, both at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. The funeral services for Don will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at the funeral home with interment to follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorials for Don may be given to St John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, Mid-County E.M.S., or Heartland Hospice.
