Donald James McGinnis, 70 of Perrysburg Ohio, passed away July 27, 2022. Son of Charles Jr. and Josephine (Hartman) McGinnis, he was born May 18, 1952 in Van Wert, Ohio. Donald was a 1971 graduate of Van Wert High School, later gaining his Associates of Science from Indiana University, and finally a certification from The Nuclear Medicine Institute of Cleveland. He worked as a nuclear medicine technician at St. Vincent’s Hospital for 25 years.
Fate brought Donald together with the love of his life, Jeanne (Hunt) McGinnis as they were both on their separate ways to the same church when Donald honked his horn at the distracted woman (Jeanne) in front of him who was applying her lipstick at the traffic light. The two married on August 15, 1987 and were married for 26 years until she passed away. Donald enjoyed camping, playing drums for the church band, shooting air rifles, and was an avid fan of the 1967 Ford Mustang convertible in candy apple red since he was a teen. He will best be remembered by those who loved and cared for him for his mischievous nature of joking, teasing, and causing playful trouble.
Donald is survived by his son Shawn (Dana) McGinnis, daughter Victoria (Jack) Taylor, and grandchildren Michael and Joshua McGinnis, and Gabriel and Flynn Taylor. He is preceded in death by his wife Jeanne (Hunt) McGinnis, grandson Ethan Taylor, and his parents Charles Jr. and Josephine (Hartman) McGinnis.
