Donald Lewis, 62, of Genoa Ohio gained his heavenly wings on February 1st, 2020. A strong man who would do whatever it took to maintain the smiles on those who knew him. He was a man who never met a stranger; A man who overcame much struggle and hardship in his life and still had a smile on his face; A man we were truly blessed to have in our lives; A man who will be missed by many beyond words. We will cherish the memories and never forget the laughs he brought to those around him. He was a man I was blessed to call my father in law. We hold together strong , knowing he arrived at heavens gates with his fishing pole in hand, Skylar waiting on the other side to jump into his arms and guide him straight to the best fishing hole heaven has to offer. Many memorable times with his special fishing buddy Brandy were just a warm up to the big ones hes catching up there now! His favorite sister-in-laws, Kathy and Terri, picking and teasing every moment he could, and always the best, most patient driver for all you ladies on your many trips. A very special young woman he raised as his own, Amanda, he took you under his wing and helped to mold you into the strong woman you are today. His boys, Larry, Brad and DJ, he stood by each one and guided them, showing them the path to become such wonderful husbands and fathers they are today. I know he was proud of each one of you. All those Grand-babies those were his world! He would drop anything for a school dance, sports, homework and everything that comes with babies to toddlers to teenagers to adults with their own babies. Macie, Lily, Kassie, Kingston, Kian, Makailyn, Mason, Braesyn, Hannah, Brayellen, Penny, Damion, Eden and Gabe, you kids were his whole world. Penny, his wife, his rock, the love of his life, the beat in his heart. A couple you could only wish to become someday, they had a bond that will never break. He will be right beside you every step, and waiting patiently with open arms. Don is survived by his wife of 36 years, Penny, Children, Larry (Rachel) Shepherd, Brad (Malory) Shepherd, D.J. The family would like to invite anyone who knew him to his Celebration Of Life gathering for hugs, laughs, tears and special memories. Saturday Feb. 8th, 2020. God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not meant to be. So He put his arms around you and whispered, Come with Me. With tearful eyes we watched you slowly fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we would not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, your hard-working hands put to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
