Donald R. Krause

Donald R. Krause, a man known for his vibrant spirit and devotion to family, passed away leaving a legacy of laughter and professional accomplishment. Born in Toledo, Ohio, on November 1, 1945, to Mildred and Richard Krause, Don grew up in the area and attended Macomber High School. After high school, he served his country by enlisting in the Air Force, which included time stationed overseas.

Professional Career and Ventures

Don built a successful career in logistics, beginning at LOF before moving to Owens-Illinois in Toledo, Ohio.. During his tenure at the Seagate Center, he served as the Transportation and Raw Materials Manager. Even after his formal retirement, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish and operate his own company, Logistic Solutions, LLC.

A Life of Sport and Storytelling

An avid golfer, Don traveled across the U.S. to play at prestigious courses, including Oakmont, Augusta National, and the Greenbriar. He frequently participated in notable tournaments such as The Jamie Farr Classic, The Owens Corning Celebrity Pro-Am, and the Mario Lemieux Celebrity Invitational.

While he loved the competition, he most valued the time spent with friends and colleagues. Don often shared colorful stories from his life, such as enjoying cigars with Dr. J and Charles Barkley, or meeting NBA legend Bill Laimbeer while doing business with William Laimbeer, Sr.

Family and Celebration

Don was the "life of the party" who loved music and dancing, but his greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia (Repass), and their three children: Jeff, Tricia (Gabriel Cardenas), and Steven (Tisha). He was also a proud grandfather to Samantha, Noah, Nina, Ava, Grace, Katie, Johnathan, Clay, and Irelynn, often sharing stories of their many achievements. He is also survived by his younger sister, Diane (Michael Begg), whom he loved to tease with practical jokes from childhood into their adult years.

A celebration of Don's life will be held on Friday, January 16th at:

St. Paul Lutheran Church, 112 E. Wayne St, Maumee, Ohio 43537

● Visitation: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

● Service: 12:00 PM

● Luncheon: A luncheon for all guests will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Don's honor to the Michael J.

Fox Foundation or to St Paul's Lutheran Church.
