Donald C. Klohn

Donald C. Klohn, 79, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Friday, November 04, 2011 at Parkview Care Center, Fremont, OH. Don was born on April 19, 1932 in Fremont, OH, the son of Otto J. and Esther Gallagher Klohn. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1951. Don was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a farmer and was a custodian at Style Crest Manufacturing until his retirement in 1977 due to illness. Don was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, OH. He served on church council as a trustee, was a member of the church Altar Guild, served on the former Hearts Hands committee of the church, sang in the choir for over 40 years in several Lutheran churches and was the caretaker of the flowers and landscaping around the church buildings for many years. Don was a member of the John A. Fader American Legion Post #114. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Brothers: Irvin Carol Myers Klohn and Kenneth Barbara Steinbauer Klohn; Nieces: Heidi Khalilieh and Jenne Klohn Ball; Nephews: Danny Polter, Larry Polter, Kevin Klohn Brad Klohn and Leland Klohn. Don was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Lois Jean Klohn Polter and niece: Renda Jean Polter Kiser Remmers. Visitation will be 5-7pm, Friday, November 11, 2011 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 165 E. Water St, Oak Harbor Funeral Services will be conducted, 11am, Saturday, November 12, 2011 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor, OH. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Don may be given to the Choir fund at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.
