Donald E. Karns, age 78, passed away Sunday April 11, 2010 at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. Dons passing, while it hurts, allowed him to return to the love of his life, his wife, Veronica whom he has deeply missed over the last nine years. The son of William and Rebecca Karns, he was born July 16, 1931 in Cleveland, OH. Don served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for United Parcel Service for 31 years retiring as a Division Manager in 1986. He loved to golf and enjoyed fishing. Don was also a member of the Maumee Elks. He lived for his grandchildren and was delighted to be a spectator at all their sporting events and other activities. Don was a great husband , dad, and grandfather who provided nothing but the best for them all. He is survived by his children, Donna Ruedisueli John Koss, Don Karns, Patty George Calendine, Patrick Mickie Karns; grandchildren, Dustin and Evan Calendine, Nick Ruedisueli, Steph Lawill, Jimmy and Kim Neitenbach; and sister, Becky Chuck Stohrel. He was preceded by his wife, Veronica; sister, Martha Roland and brother, James Karns. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
