Donald H. Hanney, 89, of Oak Harbor, died early in the morning of Friday, December 14, 2018, at his home. He was born October 1, 1929, in Oak Harbor to Edward and Elizabeth (Bodi) Hanney. He was married to Geraldine Meachem, who preceded him in death on December 14, 2004. Donald retired in 1991 from Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools as a longtime custodian. He had also worked at Uni-Royal in Port Clinton, Formetal in Oak Harbor and Matthew Boats in Port Clinton. One of his favorite hobbies was trapping. Donald is survived by his family: daughter, Donna (Steve) Wilkins; grandchildren, Angela (Robert) DeLong, Stephanie Wilkins, Kenny (Rachael) Wilkins, Jim Hanney and Billy (Amy) Hanney; great grandchildren, Cody, Cammron and Connor Schultz, Chance DeLong, Millie and Crystal West, Archie and Andy Estrada, Alex Hanney, Brock Hanney and McKenzie Hanney; step-great grandchildren, Alivia Goff and Ava Goff; great great grandchildren, Isabella Schultz, Kensey Schultz, and Adin Schultz, step great great granddaughter, Skyler Schultz, sister, Anna Mae Matthews; and brothers, Vincent Haney and Wayne Hanny. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Tom Hanney, son, James Hanney and infant grandson, Craig Wilkins. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, with visitation two hours prior from 2-4 p.m. Burial will follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery.
