Donald Curly F. Fredrick, 91, of Martin, Ohio, died Monday, March 9, 2009, in St. Charles-Mercy Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. He was born November 29, 1917, in Martin, Ohio, to Amiel and Martha Siefke Fredrick. He married Esther Z. Zieren and she preceded him in death April 27, 1977. Donald was a longtime farmer and also worked in maintenance at the former Woolson Spice Co. of Toledo, later Albring Co. He was known as the honorary mayor of Blackberry, loving his beer. He bowled in Clay Center for many years and also enjoyed playing euchre. He is survived by his nephew and nieces, Ronald Judith Denn of Millsboro, DE, Linda Kevin Monson Snook of Wheatland, WY, and Diane Denn of Glendale Hts. IL, and a great nephew, Joshua Denn. His parents, wife, brothers, Harvey and Oscar Fredrick, and sister, Doris Denn preceded him in death. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2009, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa, with a fellowship gathering to follow at 7:30 p.m. at Blackberry Corners, Martin. Burial for Donald will take place 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo. The family has suggested memorials for Donald to the Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #1, Williston, or the donor choice.
