Donald E. France

Donald “Don” E. France, 88, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Waterford at Levis Commons. He was born in Rawson, Ohio on July 18, 1928 to Harold W. and Marie B. (Chambers) France. Don honorably served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg and 50 year member of Knights of Pythias. Don retired as a Design Engineer in 1995 from Abbey Etna Machine Company. In his spare time he enjoyed playing bingo. Don married his sweetheart, Karolynne M. Healy in Toledo at Monroe Street Methodist Church in 1954. Together they raised their two children. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed. Don is survived by his daughter, Judith (Matthew) M. McCrory; son, Gerald (Cheryl) E. France; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Mary Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karolynne M. France; brother, Harold France; sisters, Martha Smith and Mardelle Clemens. Friends will be received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM with a Knights of Pythias service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 3 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM with a service to begin at noon. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
