Donald L. Fuzz Fastzkie, 78, of Oak Harbor, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor after a year and a half battle with cancer. He was born on February 19, 1932 in Port Clinton to Leslie H. and Julia L. Branum Fastzkie. As a young man he moved to Toledo to be closer to his job at Rubinis Volkswagon and continued to work for them when they moved to Maumee and became Lakeport Volkswagon. He retired from there and then worked part-time for the Holiday Inn in downtown Toledo. In 2000 he moved back to Oak Harbor. During the forty years he lived in Toledo he kept up with the Oak Harbor School sports. He loved all the school sports and rarely missed any of the games until his illness. Donald is survived by his brothers: James E. Faye Fastzkie of Eastlake, OH, William K. Fastzkie and Richard L. Faye Fastzkie both of Oak Harbor, sister-in-law: LaVonne Vern Fillmore of Catawba and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Wayne A. and Robert W. Fastzkie, nephew: Dennis Fastzkie, and niece: Shelly Blakely. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 7, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge with Reverend Keith Baker officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
