Donald E. “Doc” Elliott Donald E. “Doc” Elliott, 84, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 with his loving daughter at his side. He was born on November, 20, 1926 in Toledo to Clarence and Ella (Stoy) Elliott. He married the love of his life, Hertha Satzl in Perrysburg, Ohio on June 11, 1955. Donald was proud to serve his country in the United States Navy attached to the Marines. He served as a Navy Corpsman Hospital Apprentice First Class who served in WWII, China and with the 1st battalion in Korea, including the battle of the Chosin Resevoir. He was an active life member of the Lou Diamond Detachment 272, Marine Corps League, Toledo Ohio, the Diamond Devil Dogs, Pound 190, Pack Ohio and a member of the Chosin Few. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Donald is survived by his daughter, Annemarie(Kevin) Goding, grandchildren, Heidi L. Goding, Sara M. Goding and Joshua L Goding, one great-grandchild on the way, nephews, Cliff Shell, Steve Elliott and Mike Elliott, and niece, Sharon (Mark) Barkimer. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 45 years, Hertha, his parents and brother, Ed Elliott. Friends and family will be received in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 11 A.M. - 1 P.M. where funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. with Pastor Timothy Philabaum officaiting. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
