Donald E. Bosack, age 90, of south Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, November 28th, 2012 at the Sterling House in Bowling Green, Ohio. He was born on May 4, 1922 in River Rouge, Michigan to Leo and Kathryn Ferstle Bosack. In his youth, Don was a member of a national championship rowing team from Ecorse, Michigan. Don enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 18 and honorably served in World War II as a Naval officer and aviator. Following the war, Don served as a pilot in the Naval Reserves at the Grosse Ile, Michigan naval base, achieving the rank of Commander. He was a graduate of the University of Detroit where he earned a business degree. He worked as an executive at Chrysler Corporation, retiring in 1980. After retirement, Don pursued many interests, ranging from upholstering furniture to selling real estate and constructing homes. Throughout his life Don gave generously of his time to help anyone in need. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Don is survived by his children, Donald J. Ella, Douglas and Deborah Jeffery Marczak; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren with two more on the way; sisters, Marie Macauley and Barbara Bernas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; daughter, Dianne and grandson, Donnie. Friends and family may visit at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 2-9 pm. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Saturday, December 1, at 9:30 am with prayers followed by Mass at St. Patricks of Heatherdowns at 10 am. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Maumee. The family would like to thank the staff at Sterling House for the tender loving care they gave to Don.
