Donald R. Belkofer Jr. passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on May 10, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, Donald was a 1959 graduate of Waite High School, where he proudly played receiver on the football team. He continued his education at the University of Toledo and was a dedicated member of Theta Kai Fraternity.
Donald worked as a controller for Bollin and Sons, where he was known for his meticulous attention to detail. Outside of work, he was an avid bowler and fisherman, often spending time on Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair. He had a passion for travel with one of his favorite destinations being Mexico. His friendly and engaging personality allowed him to make quick friends wherever he went.
A true sports enthusiast, Donald coached his sons on the Lime City Baseball Team, leading them to a championship victory. He cherished watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and was a steadfast supporter of the Rossford Athletic Boosters. As a fan of The Ohio State University and the Cleveland Browns, he enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams.
Donald also served as the past president of the Rossford Chapter of the Jaycees, demonstrating his commitment to community service. He was immensely proud of his three sons, all of whom served in the military. Tragically, his son Tom made the ultimate sacrifice for his country while serving in Afghanistan.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Donald III (Cathy) and Doug (Yolaine); daughter-in-law, Margo; brothers, Ken (Terry) and Mike; 16 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Genevieve Belkofer Sr.; son, Thomas; and sister, Bonnie.
