Donald Thomas Beczynski, 96, of Toledo passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, at home surrounded by his eight children. Born on November 18, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio, to Edwin and Helen Beczynski, Don lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army and traveled throughout Alaska, Europe, Japan, and Korea. After his military career, Don worked and retired from Ohio Bell. His strong work ethic and dedication were evident in every chapter of his life.
Don shared 67 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Wanda (Dymczyk). Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family traditions.
A devoted Catholic, Don was an active member of St. Charles and Little Flower parishes. His faith was central to his life, and he found great joy in reading the Bible from cover to cover.
Don loved fishing, taking family trips, dancing at weddings, fixing cars, and sharing stories that brought smiles to those around him. His warmth and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children: Vicky (Steve) Conover, Patti Fischer, Mary (Brett) Lasko, Donna (Joe) Weiser, Ed Beczynski, Jenny Beczynski, Julie (Franc) Bialecki, and Kathy (Rob) Houck; 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; granddaughter, Jennifer Elliott; grandson, Joshua Cessna; sisters, Barbara Chesher and Cindy Gorney; and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, from 3:00–7:00 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH 43537. Continued visitation will take place on Saturday, January 10, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Anchor Church, 5516 Silica Drive, Sylvania, OH 43560. The Graveside Service will take place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Lake Township Cemetery, 3550 Walbridge Rd, Milbury, OH 43447.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Don’s caregivers, including his daughter Jenny Beczynski, Emily Bell, and Heartland Hospice, for their loving care and support. Memorial donations may be made to Anchor Church.
