Donald M. “Don” Baldwin age 79 of Maumee, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born in Findlay, OH on November 21, 1943.
Don graduated from Whitmer High School in 1962 where he met Linda, his high school sweetheart and wife of 58 years. Don was a natural athlete and earned a scholarship in basketball from the University of Findlay. He was proud to once have the opportunity to try out for the Detroit Tigers and played baseball all of his early years.
Don had a successful career at Allstate for nearly 50 years. Year after year, he was recognized for his success in the insurance business. He was an honest hard-working man and was known for his integrity and for taking care of others.
Don had a love for water, fishing, and NASCAR racing. His favorite driver was the #3 car, Dale Earnhardt, who looked a lot like Don, so they say. His family shared a cottage on Vineyard Lake where they spent 9 years. For the last 20 years, the family has shared a home on Lake LeAnn. His children and grandchildren have countless memories and shared so much together. Don loved and lived for his family. He also had a passion for music; PBR, classic cars, a great t-shirt or baseball cap.
Surviving is his loving wife, Linda (Littrell); daughters, Christine (David Balcirak), Angie (Scott O’Brien); grandchildren, Nick, Madison (Dakota) and Mackensie (Connor) and brothers Stewart (Deb Baldwin) and Harry (Jody Baldwin). Don has reunited with his youngest brother, Steve, and so many others who meant so much to him.
The family is blessed with lifetime relationships with so many people that meant so much. His high school friends, work friends, and neighborhood friends. Don treasured them all.
