Donald H. Allen, fondly known as “Donnie or Butch” passed into our Savior’s arms on January 3, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Donnie was a proud Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. While serving in the war, he was exposed to Agent Orange while refueling helicopters. He worked for Welder Needs and Bil-Jax as a Truck Driver and Salesman for many years. Donnie owned and operated his own business, T & A Lawn Care where he also sold Walker Brand lawn mowers. He also was employed by the Toledo Blade for 16 years delivering newspapers. He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife of 43 years, Sandy; daughter, Angela M. Myers (Neil); grandson, Jeffrey (Sara); great grandchildren, Ciara, Mariah, Jeffrey Jr., and Aniyah; sisters, Louella (Carl) Newman and Janet K. (Richard) Evearitt; nieces, Holly (Josh) and Linda; nephew, Daniel; great nieces and nephew, Kaylee, Cameron and Sydney and all his California family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delphos and Anna and brother, James. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 11:00-12:00 PM at Providence Lutheran Church, 8131 Airport Highway in Holland where Memorial Services will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Dennis King officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Donnie’s name to either Providence Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
