Don James Willmarth

Don J. Willmarth, 64, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on September 26, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Warren and Juanita (Hurlbut) Larson. On October 6, 2006 he married Linda Cantu and she survives. Don worked as a screw machine machinist since he was 18 years old for various manufacturing companys, and was most recently employed at Port Clinton Manufacturing from 2004 until his retirement in July. He enjoyed working on machines, riding his motorcycle, eating ice cream, and being a Friend of Bill W., namely, a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he volunteered to run AA meetings at the jail to help others struggling with alcoholism. He especially enjoyed taking care of his cats, Coco, Winston, Scotty, Mya, Kitty, Pepper, Cali, as well as the numerous strays who didn’t have a home. Survivors include his wife, Linda; father, Warren Larson; daughters, Rachel (Larry) Balaga, Parma, Ohio, Faith (Joe) Fischer, Parma, Ohio; step-children, William (Christina) Wheeler, Wauseon, Ohio, Christy (Kerry) Tyce, Sandusky, Ohio, Eric (Andrea) Gerkin, Genoa, Ohio; five grandchildren, Lucas, Makayla, and Everett Balaga, Michaela and Morgan Fischer; step-grandchildren, Lauren Wheeler, Zachary Wheeler, Cheyenne and Amaya Eppse, Jacob and Emi Gerkin; and brother, Andy Larson. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Willmarth; his mother, Juanita Willmarth-Larson; and his sister, Rita May. Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 4 pm until Services at 6 pm.
