Dolores Ann (Mruzek) Lowrie, 89 yrs.

February 17, 1937-July 4, 2026

There wasn't a person who didn't love Dee. She was kind and caring, willing to listen, shared her pumpkin cookie recipe with anyone who asked, and loved her family fiercely.

She was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1937, during the Great Depression, to Stephen T. and Mary A. (Halas) Mruzek. She always said "My mother taught me to be a saver", a trait she passed on to her children and grandchildren.

She graduated from Woodward high school and married Robert Roman. They lost three sons, before having two daughters. Their marriage ended soon after.

In 1972, she met and married the love of life, Richard Lowrie, a widower with three daughters of his own.

Their union lasted 10 glorious years, full of love, laughter and summers at Douglas Lake until his passing in 1982.

Despite spending the next 44 years as a widow, she carried her life trials close, always relying on her faith to get her through.

Her children learned to be strong and self-sufficient. Denise (Matt) Krumel, Andi (Greg) Tye, Mary Jo (Jerry) Bish, Elizabeth (Betty) Kahlenberg and the late Colleen Cousino.

She found her greatest joy being a grandma and great grandma to her 15 grandchildren and 17 (+1) great grandchildren. She treasured every minute with them, never failing to send a birthday card with an extra treat and always including a knitted dish cloth with all her gifts.

Her cousins, Ron and Louise, her friends Karol, Rosalie, Helen, Annette and Sue could always count on her check-in phone calls.

Dee, mom, grandma, GiGi, and friend will be missed by many!

She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Richard, her sons Stephan, Jeffrey and Anthony, daughter Colleen, grandson Blake Matthew, son-in-law John Kahlenberg and sister Frances Minns.

Her funeral is Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 11 AM in Bethlehem, Lutheran Church, Pemberville, OH, with Pastor Timothy Philbaum officiating. The burial will be in the Pemberville Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, July 7, from 5pm to 8pm at Walker, Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg.
