Dolores Kreft, 84, died August 19, 2014 at Sunset Village with her loving family by her side. She was born November 2, 1929 in Toledo to the late James Casey and Josephine (Jachimiak) Byczynski. She married Joseph V. Kreft on October 16, 1948; he died September 20, 2007. Donald Byczynski, her brother, also preceded her in death. Dolores was a 1947 graduate of Whitney High School. She retired in 1992 from Sears where she worked in receiving. She had also been employed at Ohio Citizens Bank as a bookkeeper. Dolores was a member of the Historic Church of St. Patrick and the Red Hat Society. In her free time, Dolores enjoyed reading, going to the movies, gardening, music and spending time at Marble Lake. She found her greatest enjoyment in caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also was blessed with a delightful addition to her life in caring for Joey Dandino. Dolores will be remembered for her social, optimistic and encouraging personality which resulted in positive relationships and many friends. Those left to cherish her memory include: sister, Delphine Byczynski; sister in law, Patricia Byczynski; children, Bonnie (Robert) Boes, Jeffery (Pamela S.) Kreft, Christopher (Constance) Kreft and Gregory (Jennifer) Kreft; grandchildren, Kristyn (Kris) Kautz, Zachary Kreft, Sabrina (Greg) Wistain, Michael (Abbey) Sachs, Nicholas (Rachael) Kreft, Rachel (Brian) Bell, Jared and Evan Kreft; great grandchildren, Neil, Audrey, Eliette, Olivia, Phillip, Gabriel, Ethan and Makenna; niece, Dolly Marinelli; and friend, Richard Palmer. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where a scripture service and sharing of memories will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Historic Church of St. Patrick, 130 Avondale Avenue, Toledo, where additional visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Sunset Village or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. A special thank you to the staff at both Sunset Village Overmeyer Household and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care of Dolores.
