Dixie S. Miller

Dixie S. Miller, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, 69, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Dixie was born January 8, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio to Wilbur G. and Leona E. (Sarver) Stanford. She married Richard E. Miller on April 24, 1965 and he preceded her in death in 2013. Dixie was a secretary for Lourdes College for eight years. She was a member of Church of Cross United Methodist Church in Toledo, Ohio. She was an active member of the Local 50 Retirees with her husband, Richard, and still participated after his death. Dixie was an avid reader, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going out to dinner and the movies with many family members and friends. Dixie is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Bill) Costelli, Mary (Eric) Hilbert and Beth (Chris) Carson; grandchildren, Jessica, Richie, Emily and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Mariah, Kyra and Tyler; siblings, Wilbur (Pat) Stanford, Joyce (Eric) Hallenbeck, and Linda (Paul) Wortman. Along with her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jimmy Stanford. Family and friends will be received Monday, January 11, 2016 from 4-9 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10 A.M. with Pastor Steven C. Judson, officiating.
