Dina L. Gossett, age 69, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
She was born on May 28, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio, to Clifford and Rosemary Billmaier. Dina was known for her warm heart, kind spirit, phenomenal sense of humor, and unforgettable laugh that could brighten any room. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and loved.
Dina had a lifelong love of music, dancing, nature, and especially gardening and birds. Growing up, she earned the nickname "Dina Bird", which later evolved into "Pigeon" or "Pidge" among those closest to her. Despite sharing a nickname with a homing bird, Dina was not known for her sense of direction, once even finding herself in the kitchen at the Toledo airport, originally looking for her gate.
A dedicated nurse, Dina spent most of her career caring for patients at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo and Mercy Family Practice Center. She brought compassion, patience, and humor to help others to both her work and her personal life.
Dina shared a loving marriage with her husband, Rich, and their bond grew stronger throughout the years. Together, they built a family that was the center of her life, and she treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Always an active presence in her children's lives, Dina loved traveling with her daughter, Ciara, often meeting her in tropical destinations as they both enjoyed the beach. She rarely missed her children's soccer games and even traveled to Scotland and England with her son, Derek, while he played.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Rosemary Billmaier; and her siblings, Paula Billmaier and Wayne Billmaier.
Dina is survived by her husband, Paul "Rich" Gossett; her daughter, Ciara (Aracely Odell) Gossett; her son, Derek (Taylor) Gossett; her cherished grandchildren (Tate, Blaze, and Scotty); and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, Ohio. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dina's memory to the Paws & Whiskers Cat Shelter of Toledo.
