Diane L. Weidner

Diane L. Weidner, 73, of Elmore, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at her home, following a difficult illness. Diane was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on May 24, 1947, the daughter of Walter W. and Kathryn L. (Treter) Schroeder. She married the love of her life, John A. Weidner in Graytown, Ohio on February 17, 1967 and they spent 51 years together until his death on March 25, 2018. Diane was an account representative for the former Genoa Savings and Loan and later First Federal Bank, for 28 years, retiring in 2009. She was a life member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Graytown where she was an active member. Diane’s most important and cherished role was of a devoted Nana to her grandchildren. She made sure they knew how much she loved them by always being there for their activities and supporting them in every way. She was very creative and made Christmas ornaments for her family and was known for her sewing skills. Every year she and her family baked multitudes of Christmas cookies to share. She and John always enjoyed their time traveling to Colorado, the Smoky Mountains and the Amish countryside. Diane is survived by her children, Angela (Bob) Abt, Jon (Nicole) Weidner and Krista (B.C.) Culbertson; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Taylor, Halie, Kaylin, Noah, Makyah and Bobby Troy; and her sister, Darlene (Jim) Truman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, daughter, Renae Weidner-Okonski and brother, Duane Schroeder. Visitation, with masks and social distancing, will be held from 1-6 PM on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio.
