Diane Marie Adkins Heidbreder

Diane Marie Adkins Heidbreder age 58 of Maumee, OH passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born in Toledo on January 27, 1959 to Thomas E. and Marie (Blizarde) Adkins. Diane graduated from Bowsher High School and holds degrees from the University of Toledo and Lourdes University. Diane was employed as an occupational therapy assistant at NWO Speech where she provided therapy services to school children in the Toledo area. Prior to this, she was employed 19 years at the Dana Corporation starting out as a warehouse employee and moving up to corporate secretary while pursuing her higher education. She was a member of Maumee United Methodist Church and also a long-time member of the Maumee Community Band where she played the flute and piccolo. Diane enjoyed the camaraderie of making music with the MCB where she made many friends and met her husband Kevin. She was a positive, kind, selfless, and energetic person. She was most passionate about helping daughter Emily organize her many activities including tennis, Girl Scouts, swimming and volunteering with the Zooteens. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, sewing and traveling with family. She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin F. Heidbreder; daughter, Emily M. Heidbreder; mother, Marie Adkins; sister, Lynn A. Adkins; nephew, Zachary T. Adkins and many loving relatives and friends. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Adkins and son, Eric Peters. Friends and family will be received at the Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett St., Maumee on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 3:00-8:00 PM. Additional visitation will take place at the church on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maumee Community Band.
