Diane Ruth Dearsman

November 17, 1942 — April 9, 2023

Diane R. Dearsman, 80, formerly of Green Springs and Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023 at the Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, Ohio, where she had been a resident since 2021. She was born in Fremont, Ohio and raised in Clyde, Ohio, to Alfred J. and Norma R. (Mader) Oberdorf. Diane married Ovid W. Dearsman in Monroe, Michigan on April 18, 1965 and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2004.


Diane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was an avid OSU football and NASCAR fan. She loved to dance to all types of music and be outdoors in the warm sunshine. When she married, she worked on the family produce farm in Green Springs. Diane also passed her time knitting and raising vegetables in her own garden. Diane will always be remembered for her warm and friendly smile!


Diane is survived by her children, Brenda (Kurt) Cronin, Ronda (Dean) Meyer, Ovid (Missi) Dearsman, Donna (Richie) Lindley and Fonda Dearsman, thirteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, along with her sister, Fran Morgan and brothers, Fred (Judy) Oberdorf and Jerry (Becky) Oberdorf. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Linda Newsome, sister, Marjorie Burton, brother, Larry Oberdorf, and son-in-law, David Jividen.


Private services for Diane will be held at a later date, with burial in the Green Springs Cemetery. The Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton is handling arrangements for the family.
