Diana Irwin, 78, of Maumee, OH has passed away on February 4, 2022, after a battle with cancer at the Hospice Center of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Diana was born on March 31, 1943, in Toledo, OH to Richard and Dorothy (Buchert) Linehan. She graduated from Central Catholic High School, class of 1961. She worked in a variety of fields beginning at Don’s Ice Cream, on to catering, manufacturing, and retiring from Giant Industries.
Diana led an adventurous life, surrounding herself with friends and family during her time here. Some days riding bikes out to Pearson Park after school to ride horses. She was an avid bowler, often leading the scoreboard with her partners in crime, Sylvia, Shirley, Betty Lou, and Ada Pearl. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed reading, completing crosswords, and spending time with her “pride and joy” and faithful companion, Sammy. She also enjoyed skeet and trap shooting and playing drums, one of the many reasons she was the cool mom of the neighborhood. She loved listening to Elvis Presley and rooting for her favorite sports teams, the Detroit Lions, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. She was as loving as she was fun, praying every night for every single family member and all her friends, at times starting from the very beginning if she nodded off mid prayer. She was selfless, gave advice to all who needed it, and was an amazing support system to those around her. She will be dearly missed by the many lives she touched.
Diana is survived by her children, Kim (Steven), Norm (John), and Eddie; grandchildren, Kaleigh (Sean), McKenzie (Travis), Michaela (Robert), Jolynn, Dani (Jeremy), Devin, Omar, Danny, Carlos, and Justin; brothers, Rick and Mike; sisters, Pat (Bob), Connie (Tom); sisters-in-law, Betty Lou, Darla (Roy), many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many friends. She was especially excited about the addition of her great grandchildren, Owen, Braxton, Bryce and Ashlynn.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy; daughter, Tammy Jeanne; sister, Shirley; niece, Jody; mother and father-in-law, Ada and Ed; mother and father-in-law, Betty and Carl and sisters-in-law Sylvia and Sherrie Kay; and lifelong friend, Jim O’Shea.
