Diana L. Dittman, 76, of Sylvania, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at her home. She was born June 24, 1941 in Toledo to Louis and Josephine (Chmielewski) Nieckarz. Diana is now reunited with her husband to whom she devoted her life. They will celebrate their 58th anniversary together in Heaven. She was employed at St. Jude Catholic School as a secretary and then a substitute with the Sylvania Schools. Diana was a former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and a current member of St Joseph Church, Sylvania. She was a Eucharistic Minister, PTA president, soup kitchen and bingo volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes. She also volunteered at Gesu, Old Orchard and Our Lady of Lourdes Schools. Diana was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She was a Senior Rockette and participated in the Sylvania Follies. Mrs. Dittman also was a member of the Italian Alba Club. She enjoyed bowling, dancing the Polka, crocheting, baking, cake decorating and was a talented seamstress. She was an avid sports fan but her favorite athletes were her family. Diana was devoted to her family and instilled many traditions. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all. Left to cherish her memory are her children, William C. (Tammy), Jeffrey (Julie), Adrienne (John) Muranyi and Nicole Dittman; daughter-in-law, Diane Dittman; grandchildren, Tennille, Billy, Jeffrey, Nicolette, Chase and Mia; great-grandchildren, Gracie-Beth, Daniel, Marley and Lily; brother, Bob (Janet) Nieckarz; sister, Susan (Robert) Goetz; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William, January 2018; and son, Daniel. Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue. A Celebration of Dianas Life will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Private interment will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
