Dexter James Havens, age 59, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on June 5, 1963 in Port Clinton, Ohio to Claude and Bethel (Sparks) Havens.  Dexter was a wild and free caring man who loved his family deeply.  He enjoyed baking, singing, spending time with the kids, and being a jokester.

Dexter is survived by his siblings, Cynthia (Eddie) Harris, Wendy Havens, Walter (Petra) Havens and David (Mara) Palmer; two nieces of whom he helped to raise, Sherri (Michael) Tilson and Rebecca Reed;  special buddy and great nephew, Terrelle “Diggy” Young; great nieces and nephews, Treselle Young, Hannah, Alyssa, Kayla and Robert J. Rodriguez, Andrea, Paige, Devin, and Nate Palmer and Renee Sparks.  He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews that hold a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Luther, Richard and Chris; and nephew, Tellys Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 214 East Second Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452 Online condolences may be given at www.walkefuneralhomes.com
