Dewey Glen Matthews

Dewey Glen Matthews, 77, of Port Clinton, OH died Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH.  He was born December 11, 1941 in Rogersville, TN the son of Ulysses Grant and Lura Anna(Thompson) Matthews. On Easter Sunday, April 14, 1968 he married Nancy L. Cox, and she survives. Glen had worked for US Gypsum for 40 years retiring in 2006. He served as a Deacon at Church of God of Prophecy for many years and enjoyed singing Gospel Music and watching the Pittsburg Steelers. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Nancy Matthews, children: Lisa (Kenny) Gosik, Anthony W. (Leticia) Matthews, Theresa (Kenneth) Mazur, and Jason (Donna) Matthews, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one on the way, brother: Onnie (Wanda) Matthews and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by sisters: Mary Harkleroad, Luna Benton, Virgie Simpson, Della Mowel, Nellie Hughes, Audrey Light, Dencil Malory, brothers: Johnie Matthews and Lloyd Matthews. Visitation in Ohio will be 10am, Friday, August 30, 2019 until time of Funeral Service at 11am, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington St, Port Clinton.  David Mowel will officiate. Visitation in Tennessee will be 10am, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 until time of funeral service at 11am, in the Gospel Lighthouse, 1609 Goshen Valley Rd, Church Hill, TN. Rev. Dave Morelock will officiate. Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery, Grassy Creek Rd In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Heart Beat of Ottawa County, 1848 E Perry St, Port Clinton, OH 43452 or . Gospel Lighthouse, 1609 Goshen Valley Rd, Church Hill, TN 37642.
