Dessie Lou Kuebler, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the Manor Care of Perrysburg, which she called home for the last two years. Dessie was raised on a farm in Indiana, with a total of nine brothers and sisters. Dessie was the baby of the family and always said her cousin, Sylvie, was more like a sister to her since they grew up together and were so close in age. Dessie married Maynard “Bob” Kuebler on April 20, 1950. He passed way in July of 1997. She is survived by her children, James (Cheryl) Kuebler, Cheryl Kennedy, William Kuebler, Karen (Tim) Baron, Tracy Kuebler; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Dessie was also preceded in death by her children, Dan Kuebler, Bonnie Goben, David Kuebler; and her siblings. Dessie had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. She has helped out not only her family, but multiple friends through the years who were in need. Besides raising her eight children and keeping the house in order, Dessie worked at Dunkin’ Donuts, then later at Flower Hospital in housekeeping, retiring in 1986. When she retired, her and her husband moved to Arizona for several years, taking multiple trips to travel the country. She eventually moved back after Bob’s passing to be close to her children. When Dessie was asked what her most valuable lesson to others would be, it was this: “You need to respect and love one another – it’s that simple!” Dessie is deeply loved and will be missed by her entire family and everyone who knew her. Friends will be received on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Avenue, Oregon, OH 43619 (419-691-6768), where a Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Please wear a mask and respect all social distancing guidelines. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Lake Township Firebelles food pantry. Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting Dessie's Tribute Wall, located near the top of this page.
