Dennis E. Wahl

Dennis E. Wahl, 81, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 peacefully surrounded by his family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, OH. He was born at home on September 27, 1940 in Clyde, OH to Edwin V. and Hazel F. (Claar) Wahl.  He graduated from Clyde High School in 1958.  On July 1, 1961 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fremont, he married Jane L. Shank, and she preceded him in death on February 22, 2003. Dennis worked at Brush Wellman/Materion for almost 44 years, retiring in 2002 as a lead operator in the Sintering/Hot Press department. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, the Eagles in Fremont, Moose Lodge in Clyde, and a Gold Member of the GoodGuys Rod & Custom Association. Dennis enjoyed going to casinos, watching drag racing, NASCAR, listening to steel guitar music and Neil Diamond, watching James Bond movies, and had an extensive collection of die-cast model cars. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and watching the border collie frisbee games with his granddaughter. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians, which he attended the first game played at Jacob’s Field. His family will most miss Dennis telling them he loved them.

Dennis is survived by his children, Barbara J. (Phil) Kerbel, Michael D. (Diana) Wahl, and Craig E. (Jacki) Wahl, grandchildren, Taylor (Logan) Davies, Trevin (Allison) Haar, Ryan (Alison) Wahl, Shaun Wahl, Brittany (Jared York) Wahl, Jessica (Adam) Settimo, and Kaitlin (Anthony Davila) Wahl, great grandchildren, Emma Haar, Evan Haar, Anastasia Cetin, Joseph Wahl, Nora Settimo, and one on the way (Mary Jane), brothers, Daniel Wahl and Kevin (Kris) Wahl, and longtime companion, Carol Hoffman and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and an infant granddaughter.

Visitation for Dennis will be on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. A Funeral Mass for Dennis will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 215 N. Church St, Oak Harbor, beginning with prayers offered at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions in memory of Dennis may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg or St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor.
