Dennis E. Swope, 74, of Oak Harbor, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the Elmwood Living Facility, Fremont. He was born on December 18, 1940, in Fremont to Francis and Goldie (Grills) Swope. Dennis worked as a salesman at Happy Days Boating and later became a licensed captain running Hot Spot Charter Service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1610 in Port Clinton and the Camp Perry Skeet Shooting Club. Dennis enjoyed boating, fishing, racing, and shooting. Dennis is survived by his children, Steven (Terri) Swope of Oak Harbor, Amy (Danny) Huckaby of Atlanta, GA, Scott (Lesley) Swope of Huron, OH, and Emily (Scott) Riley of Fredericksburg, VA; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Sharon (John) Burkett of Huber Heights, OH; and companion, Mary Lou Salaris of Delaware, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Calvin Swope. Private services will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions for Dennis may be made to the Hospice of Promedica Memorial Hospital, 430 S. Main St., Clyde, OH 43410. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor, is entrusted with the arrangements.
