Dennis L. Ranes

Dennis L. Ranes, 64, of Holland, Ohio, died Monday, July 16, 2012 in the Edward & Marion Knight Hospice Center, Perrysburg, Ohio. Dennis was born in Toledo on September 8, 1947 to Byron K. and Delores E. Chambers Ranes. Dennis was a diesel engine mechanic for many years, working on various types of heavy equipment for Caterpillar. He was a local karaoke DJ in the Toledo area for many years and was known as Dennis the Mennis. Music was his passion along with playing the guitar. He liked to work out and lift weights almost every day, and ride motorcycles, he was also an avid classic car buff. Dennis friends will remember him as one who always put 110% into whatever he was doing! Survivors of Dennis include his daughters, Jodi Ron Gorney, and Kelly Scott, grandchildren, Ron, Jr., Jessica Bradley, Michael, Joe Alex, Brandon, Shay, and Kayla, great-grandchildren, Reagan, Ryann, Alissa, William, and Harlee, along with his brothers, Danny Cheryl Ranes and David Ranes. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Dennis Life will be conducted at 11, AM, Saturday, July 28, 2012 in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH 43537. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Dennis be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, OH 43551.
