Dennis James Loxton, Jr., 69, of Toledo, OH, best friend and beloved husband of Lynne Adams passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Born August 23, 1944 in Bristol, England. After arriving in the new world in 1948, he lived in Ramsey, NJ, then Fort Wayne, IN, finally spending his last years in Toledo, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Loxton and Helen Merritt. Dennis was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving two tours in Vietnam, recipient of the Purple Heart, as well as other distinguished service awards. After his military career, he spent the next 40 years in the hardware wholesaling business; of which the last 15 years working with the Dan Waitz Assoc. After retirement, he had devoted much of his time to the Wounded Warrior Project and serving as a volunteer with his other best friend Chumley as a therapy dog team at VA clinics. He is survived by his dear wife, Lynne Adams, 3 sons: Dennis, III, and Trevor Laura of Fort Wayne and Colin Allen of Chicago, IL; 5 grandchildren, Annaleise, Olivia, Elijah, Henry and Sam. Also surviving are brother, David Carolyn and sister, Penelope Mario Maurice. He lived his life much like his sayingIts a great day for hardware. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Monday, March 24 from 12-3 PM and from 6-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 25 at 11 AM at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 2770 W. Central Ave. Interment will be private.
