Dennis Coolidge, 71, of Palm Coast, Florida, died September 28 on his boat Oceanid II in Port Clinton, Ohio. The beloved son of the late Richard and Ida (nee Laurence), he is survived by Julie Rowe Coolidge, his loving wife of 27 years, and his devoted children and step-children: Chad (Heidi), Rian Lyday (Keith), Adam (Melissa), Wendy Parker (Kevin) and Kathy Henderson (Bob). He was cherished by his grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Mackenna, Kobe, Arabella, Scarlett, Carter, Colton, Juliet, Tripp and Kennedy. He was a supportive brother of Judi and the late Dean (Linda) and brother-in-law Charles Rowe. He is also survived by nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces who truly loved his awful jokes. Dennis worked tirelessly as an engineer, innovator and tinkerer, retiring as president of MR&E in Perrysburg, Ohio, but he never quite retired from anything. When Dennis recently earned his 100-T Captain’s license, he realized a goal that reflected his passion for the water. Julie, family and friends enjoyed sailing, adventures and time together. Dennis meant a lot to many, but to his family, he meant the world. Without him, there’s a hole in the world. A celebration of his life will held on Tuesday, October 3 at 2 p.m., at Port Clinton Yacht Club, Port Clinton, Ohio (41° 30’ 58” N | 82° 56’ 25” W). In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Salvation Army in Dennis’s name.
