Delphine Byczynski

Delphine Byczynski, age 81, of Sylvania, passed away September 27, 2016 at The Toledo Hospital following a brief illness. She was born December 18, 1934 in Toledo to the late James and Josephine Mary (Jachimiak) Byczynski. Delphine graduated from Mary Manse College and began her long, distinguished vocation as a Registered Nurse in 1955. She first served at Mercy Hospital, then later in the nursery at St. Vincents Hospital. Delphine was employed with pediatricians Tansey, Buganski & Roberts for 16 years as their head nurse/office manager and finished her career at Lake Park. She also provided loving care for her mother for many years. In her free time, Delphine enjoyed working in her flower garden, doing jigsaw puzzles and baking. Always forthright and candid, she will also be remembered for her feisty personality and dry sense of humor. Those left to cherish her memory include her nieces and nephews, Bonnie (Bob) Boes, Kelli (Doug) Amick, Jeff (Pam) Kreft, Chris (Constance) Kreft, Greg (Jennifer) Kreft and Brian (Jennifer) Byczynski; cousin, Diane Giovanni; sister in law, Patricia Byczynski; and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death a brother, Donald Byczynski; and sister, Dolores Kreft. Visitation will be Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) concluded with a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Interment, Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
