Debra Marie Minarik

Debra Marie Minarik, age 51, of Perrysburg, died December 28, 2014 at Mercy/St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.  She was born January 25, 1963 in Toledo to Robert Joseph and Phyllis Mae (Fairchild) Matuszynski. A 1981 graduate of Bowsher High School, Debra received a nursing degree from Stautzenberger College.  She was currently employed as a cook at Owens Community College.  In her free time, Debra enjoyed the outdoors; camping, traveling, gardening and the ocean and was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos for many years.  She found her greatest enjoyment in spending time with her family, particularly playing board games and cards.  Debra will be lovingly remembered for her outgoing, fun-loving, free-spirited nature.  She had a terrific sense of humor and was selfless to a fault. Left to cherish her memory is her father; her beloved children, Robert Joseph and Angela Marie Owen; brother, Edmund (Loraina) Matuszynski; companion, John Croy; and beloved pets, Jasper and Zippy (Debra recently lost her dog, Gypsy). Her mother and her husband, Walter Joseph Minarik III, also preceded Debra in death. Family and friends are invited to visit from 1-7 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the Walker Funeral Home, where a sharing of memories in honor of Debras life will begin at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
