Deborah M. Schumaker, 52, of Port Clinton, OH and formerly Amherst, OH died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. She was born on August 7, 1961 in Elyria, OH to Robert and Carole Berris Westlake. She graduated in 1979 from Marion L. Steele High School, Amherst, OH. Growing up, she was a worthy advisor in the Amherst Order of Rainbow of Girls and a grand lecturer to District #11 of the Order of the Rainbow. Debbie worked for the Port Clinton V.F.W. and prior to that at Bell Mells in Port Clinton. She loved to volunteer and was a fun loving person. Debbie is survived by her daughters: Whitney Cochran of Port Clinton and Sarah Cochran of Lorain, 2 grandchildren: Isabella Nemecek and Hayden Wadsworth both of Port Clinton, mother: Carole Fletcher of Amherst, sisters: Laurie John Budd of North Olmsted and Stephanie Michael Johns of Richlands, NC, nieces nephews, companion: Greg Wadsworth of Port Clinton, step father: James Szeto of Lorain, and she was previously married to: Doug Cochran of Lorain and David Schumaker of Sebastopol, CA. She was preceded in death by her father and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 6-8 p.m., at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 216 Washington St. Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Debbie may be given in care of the family.
