Deborah Ann Rozek, 63, of Perrysburg, OH passed away peacefully on November 7,2022 after a month and a half battle of cancer.
Deb was born on March 3, 1959 to Richard and Gwen (nee Grant) Tate in Grosse Pointe, MI. After graduating from Our Lady Star of the Sea in 1977, she found an interest in working at golf clubs locally as well as in Northern Michigan. Her family had a strong love of the sport and she enjoyed playing golf and tennis regularly.
In 1990, Deb married James Rozek at St. Pius X Church in Toledo, OH. They welcomed their daughter, Megan in April 1994. They later divorced amicably in 2015 but were always there for each other during difficult times.
Deb always had a love of children and knew she wanted to be a mother from a young age. When Megan was born, she was blessed to have her dream come true and enjoyed making wonderful memories with her. Deb supported her family and never missed an event for her daughter or her family in Michigan. She would travel up to the Metro Detroit area regularly to see her parents and siblings which was very important to her to do so.
You could always find Deb taking daily long walks no matter what the weather was as well as playing tennis for most of her life. She even took up pickleball in recent years. Deb was a caring mother, sister, friend and co-worker. Anyone she met would always have something lovely to say about her.
Deb was predeceased by her father, Richard Tate; mother, Gwen Tate; and two brothers, Derek and Gregory Tate (Leslie). She is survived by her daughter, Megan Doyle (Connor); sister, Cindy Taylor (David); brothers, Jeffrey Tate (Leslie), Kevin Tate (Laura), and Ian Tate; along with her nieces and nephews. Deb was going to be a “Mimi” in May 2023 and was very excited looking forward to welcoming her first grandchild. This excitement definitely helped her keep her strength during her brief battle and gave her wonderful goals.
There will be a small service held on Saturday, November 19th in Grosse Pointe, MI. A Celebration of Life along with her burial will be held in the Spring at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Rochester, MI.
Deb will truly be missed but her loving memories will always be shared. Please feel free to share any great memories you had with Deb privately to her daughter or at the service, should you wish to come, as a beautiful book will be made to keep her memory going to her future grandchildren.
