Deane J. (Downey) Luce, age 70, of Swanton, Ohio died Friday, November 9, 2012 at Toledo Hospital. She was born in Toledo on December 6, 1941 to George R. and Henrietta (Nelson) Downey and on November 1, 1986 she married David Luce. Deane was employed by Chrysler as a Secretary for 20 years and was a member of the Fulton Union Church of Christ, UAW Local #12 and the American Legion Post #479 Ladies Auxiliary. A former member of the Navy Wives Club, Deane lived in a lot of different parts of the world, places that included; Hawaii, the Philippines, Scotland, South Carolina, Tennessee, California and Maryland.. She and her husband Dave cherished their new found friends while wintering in Florida. Deane was the last of the Downey triplets who were the first set of triplets born in Toledo Hospital. She was never without a smile or a laugh. She loved her family and friends, never meeting a stranger. Deane loved to tell jokes, golf, write poetry, prided herself in her cooking and was a beautiful painter. She loved being the center of attention and the life of the party. Deane was so proud of her Hole in One at Valleywood Golf Club and her Blue Ribbon at the Fulton County Fair for her pies. She was a member of the Red Hats Society and shared her love of gambling with her husband David. Deane always remained positive and had an infectious smile. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and never missed relishing in their accomplishments. Deane will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Deane is survived by her husband, David Luce; children, Richard Frye, David (Jamie) Frye, Beth Ann (Chris) Keeler, Deborah (Doug) Reim; step son, Roy (Renee) Bisnett; 7 grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; mother, Henrietta Downey; brothers, George Downey III and Michael (Nancy) Downey. She was preceded in death by her father, George Downey Jr.; brothers, Edwin and Dennis Downey as well as her sister, Diane Barnes. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 3-9 P.M. at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in Fulton Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Deane’s memory to either the American Heart Society or to the American Diabetes Association
