Dean Edward Marcinek passed away July 12, 2022, surrounded by family. He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in February, and he fought so hard to stay with us as long as he could. Dean was born November 23, 1960, to Robert and Faith Marcinek.
He spent most of his time in Rossford before he and Teresia moved to Northwood. He attended Rossford High School and graduated from Penta in 1979. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1980 and served as a AW3 Helicopter Rescue Swimmer on board Aircraft carrier CVN69 Dwight D. Eisenhower. He saved multiple lives during this time and was awarded The Sikorsky Helicopter Rescue Award. After 4 years in the service, he went on to become a Journeyman Toolmaker and worked at Hungar Hydraulics, E & J MFG, Bay Compressor, and for over 20 years at H. Hansen where he always said, “It’s not work if you love what you do.” He was also a sugarholic and kept several candy stashes at work and at home.
Dean loved riding his Harleys and he took many trips with family and friends across the country. Dean was also the “Dog Whisperer” and loved all his fur babies.
After his children, Zach and Hannah were born, he was very involved in all their activities, he loved reading to them and helping with any project. They were the light of his life!
