David Matthew Zipfel

David Matthew Zipfel, age 49, passed away early Friday morning, January 29, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born February 5, 1966 in Toledo and was a graduate of Sylvania Northview High School and studied at the University of Toledo. David had an entrepreneurial spirit and was self-employed. He enjoyed woodworking, restoring his Ford Mustang and collecting antiques. A deeply caring and loyal man, David loved spending time with his family and many friends. He especially enjoyed time spent with his son including coaching wrestling and running club, watching Karate classes and taking weekend trips. David is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Zakary; mother, Janet (William) Kroncke; father, Robert Zipfel; brothers, Douglas (Kim) and Dennis; sister, Debbie Walters; father-in-law, Norman Benway; brothers-in-law, Chuck (Cheryl) Benway and Kevin Benway; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mary Ann Benway; and brother-in-law, Robert Walters. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.).
