David “Whitey” Fennell, age 86, passed away on July 14, 2025. David was born in Butler, PA on February 10, 1939, to parents, Glenford and Dorothy (Porter) Fennell.
After graduation from High School, Whitey proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Air Force for eight years, he worked as a truck and delivery driver, most recently driving for the Toledo Blade for 29 years.
More than any of his accomplishments, Whitey loved his family dearly. He was always there for those he loved and never asked for anything in return. Whitey, along with his wife, Rose, shared their love for family with others, opening up their home to many foster children over the years.
Whitey was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose (Gee) Fennell; and brother, Glen Fennell. He is survived by his children, David Fennell, Jr., and Debbie Fennell; grandchildren, John (Jess), Jacquelynn (Mark), Vera, Pamela (Martin), Jennifer (Aaron), Tyler; great-grandchildren, Issac, Auston, Wyatt, Remington, Dustin, Tressa, Cedric, Emma, Gabe, McKenzie, Eliana, Lillian, and Carter; and sisters, Marsha (Danny) Noe, and Linda Montgomery.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
