David A. Wheeler

David Allen Wheeler, 61, of Gypsum, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on August 24, 1959 in Port Clinton, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence “Manny” and Ruby Rose (Kirby) Wheeler. David graduated from Port Clinton High School, and became a self-employed contractor working in construction. He enjoyed playing the guitar, and fishing on Lake Erie. Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Carol Sundermeier Wheeler; son, James M. (Stormi) Johnson; daughter, Heather Johnson; step-children, Brendt (Lisa) Sundermeier, Jason Sundermeier, Gwendolyn (Bob) Lusardi; numerous grandchildren; sisters, Carol Wheeler and Coletta Wheeler; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Johnny Wheeler; his sisters, Cheryl Laney and Berna Carroll; and his niece, Staci Laney. Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, from 4 pm until a Memorial Service at 6 pm with Pastor Deron Fourman officiating.
