David R Tong

David R. Tong, 88, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Friday, December 04, 2015 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, OH.. David was born March 09, 1927 in Carey, OH, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Pratt) Tong. On June16, 1961 in Fostoria, OH, he married Vanda Lou Fox and she preceded him in death on May 27, 2013. He worked as a machine repairman for Allied and Honeywell for 41 years, until his retirement in 1984. David was a veteran of the U.S. Army Airforce, serving during WWII. He was a member of the Port Clinton Moose Lodge #1610, V.F.W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480 and David W. Leonard Aerie #2295. David will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Son: Terry Tong; Daughter: Linda Bradley; and 1 Grandchild: Michael Tong. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers: Kenneth Tong and Samuel Tong and sisters: Donna Mathewson and Effie Sloan. Cremation has taken place under the direct care of Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH.
