David H. Stamm

David H. Stamm, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the age of 70, surrounded by his loving family.

David was born September 6, 1952 in Huron, Ohio to Howard and Verna (Offenberg) Stamm. He married the love of his life, Joanne Settonni, on November 9, 1974 in Cleveland, Ohio and they have shared 49 wonderful years together.

David earned a degree in civil and structural engineering and was a pre-construction coordinator and senior estimator for Lathrop Construction. He supervised project development, contract negotiations, building plans, and blueprint reviews. David was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Maumee for over 30 years, and Exalted Ruler in 2002, where he helped lead community fundraising and other charities such as food and holiday drives. Additionally, David was a Freemasons Member in Waterville, Ohio where he held a Master Mason Degree.

David had a lifelong passion and tremendous talent for woodworking. During his retirement he enjoyed working for Woodcraft of Toledo and sharing his love and knowledge for woodworking with others. David had a strong ability to help people, understand their needs, and assist each of them with finding solutions. Despite many hardships, he still held the unique ability of finding joy in the simple and ordinary moments of life. David would drop everything to help those in need. He radiated kindness, love, warmth, integrity, and strength. He made this world more beautiful, more kind, and left this world a better place just by being here.

David was an incredible father, and he emanated love and respect for each of his children. Most of all, David adored his grandchildren and spending time with them. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, dance recitals, and musical performances. He proudly has four “Grandpa girls” and six “Grandpa boys” who all love him dearly. David was the definition of a family man, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his loving and beautiful wife, Joanne; his children, David (Kerri) Stamm, Matthew (Keri) Stamm, Jennifer (Scott) Amstutz, Katie (Micah) Vogt, and Joseph (Sarah) Stamm; ten grandchildren (Michael, Zachary, Addison, Samantha, Austin, Anthony, Molly, Isaac, Isabella, and Wyatt); his sister, Wilma, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Stamm.

Friends and family will be received Sunday, May 14, 2023 from 2-7 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee (419-893-7686) where a scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home, Monday, May 15, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 W.
