David “Dave” Robert Snell David “Dave” Robert Snell, 60, of Perrysburg passed away peacefully December 26th, surrounded by loved ones. He had a fervor for life and a magnetic personality that will be missed by all. Born in Pontiac, MI on December 29, 1960 to Robert and Linda Snell, Dave received his education at Waterford Mott HS and Hillsdale College where he double majored in Finance and English, lettered four years in football, and helped found the Alpha Kappa chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity. During his 38-year career in wealth management, he held leadership roles at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. Dave served his clients like friends - and many became just that. Giving back to his community was core to his identity. He served on boards in areas of passion, including Hillsdale College, St. Francis de Sales HS, and Kids Unlimited. Dave built his life around family, friendship, travel, and a love of athletic competition. He ran full and half marathons with his children, coached their sports teams, and passed along his spirited fandom for Michigan athletics. He looked forward to the weekly "guys’" outings, mountain biking on the Potawatomi Trail and dinner in Ann Arbor. He couldn't wait for trips to Cabo with his beloved partner Patti Ralston. Nothing brought him more joy or pride than watching his children grow in their careers, hobbies, and personal lives. A man of many nicknames (Snellzer, Snelly, Bone, Pop-pop, Yogi), Dave gladly embraced his recent title, “Grandpa Snacks,” bestowed by his adoring grandchildren. Dave is survived by his father, Robert Snell, and sister Susan Snell; children, Drew (Mary) Snell, Maria (Alex) DiTullio, Lia (John) Snell-Rivalsky, Jay (Kylie) Snell, Alana (George) Edmunds Smith, Crystal (Erik) Kotowski-Edmunds, and Sean Edmunds; and grandchildren Adelaide Rivalsky and Noah Snell. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Snell. For those who feel comfortable and healthy, friends will be received at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home 222 E. South Boundary on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 3-6 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St., Perrysburg on Monday, January 3 at 10:30 am. Burial will be private.
