David A. Neumeyer

December 27, 1949 — February 6, 2026

Age 76, and a proud Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army, fought his last battle on February 6, 2026, at The Cleveland Clinic. He was surrounded by his loving daughter and son in law.

David was the middle son of Donald G Neumeyer and Marian L Neumeyer who preceded him in death. He was the 3rd born of 5 sons.

David was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 27, 1949. He grew up in Monclova, Ohio where he resided in the family home that his father built.

David was a 1967 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School. In his Junior year, he attended Penta County Vocational School for Construction Carpentry but returned to Anthony Wayne his Senior year to do a co-op program. He worked alongside master carpenter Ray Bordner, who became his inspiration to become a master carpenter himself.

Before the age of 20, David enlisted in the United States Army. David served in Vietnam from 1970-1971 with the MACV Advisory Team 95 in Bien Hoa. David’s duty as The General’s Aid was to protect and serve. His remaining service time was in Huntsville, Alabama.

During his military service, David was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service in a hostile combat zone, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, 2 O/S Bars, Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was rated an Expert with a M14 rifle. Letter of commendation for outstanding soldier in his unit and for his professionalism and technical abilities as a Morning Report Clerk. He valued his service highly and attained the rank of Specialist Four, Generals Aid and Morning Report Clerk.

After his military service, he attended Owens Technical College and earned a certificate for Law Enforcement Technology. He also completed training for Ohio Law Enforcement Officer, Peace Officer Counsel, Criminal Code and Peace Officer Basic Training. He worked as a patrol officer for Swanton Township for 2 years.

David worked at Libbey Owens Ford for 23 years as a carpenter. After an early retirement and buyout, David continued putting his carpentry skills to work. He started his own business, Dave's Carpentry Services, where he went on to build 6 houses with his brother Bob. Before David's total retirement, he was a general contractor for Danbury Realty and Welles Bowen.

In his early days he enjoyed fast cars such as his 57 Chevy, Pontiac LeMans, Dodge Challenger, Charger and many others.

David was always hoping for the “Big Win” playing the lottery and trips to the casino. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends, meat bingo, golfing, boating and fishing with his brothers and nephew. He loved going to the steak fry and Big Breakfasts at the Whitehouse American Legion with his brothers and sons. At home he enjoyed gardening and relaxing in his pool. David loved being a great grandfather and spending time with his growing family.

David was a proud member of the Elks, Eagles and American Legion.

David is survived by his brothers, Edward Neumeyer, James (Janell) Neumeyer, Robert Neumeyer, and William Neumeyer.

Children, David (Michael) Myer, Andrea (Jason) Williams, Donald (Vicki) Neumeyer and Daniel Neumeyer.

Grandchildren, Joshua (Mindee) Williams, Ashley (Jake) Davis, Elizabeth (Landon) Seroki, Alissa Pedelose and Josh Burstetta.

Great Grandchildren, Twins Amelia and Rowan Davis, Olivia Williams, Logan Davis, Levi Seroki, Brielle and Braxton Vargas and Conway Pedelose.

The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him. He wore his Vietnam Veteran’s Hat proudly. He was loved dearly, and will be missed.

Services honoring the life of David will be as follows,

Friends and family will be received at Maison Darden Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, on Thursday, February 12th , 2026, from 4-7pm.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Friday, February 13th, 2026 at the funeral home.

David will be honored with a full Military Burial immediately following at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Maumee.
