David L Moore

David L. “Dave” Moore, age 87 of Swanton, OH died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at The University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born March 29, 1929 in Toledo to Charles R. and Josephine (Scrafford) Moore and on April 7, 1950 he married Vera Miller. He was employed as an Elevator Machinist for Schindler-Haughton Elevator for over 23 years. Dave enjoyed Bluegrass and Country music and at 14 years of age he was introduced to the fiddle. By age 18, he was a part of several bands most notably Rainbow Valley Boys, Little Dave and His Ranch Hands, Bob White and the Candy Mountain Boys, John Hall and the Alligators as well as Hand-Hewn, playing all over Northwest Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Vera (Miller) Moore; children, Eileen Leach; Irene (Tim) Kidd, David (Sabrina) Moore Jr., as well as Joy (Larry) Martin; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528 (419-865-8879) where Memorial Services will follow at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dave’s honor to his family.
